TKT’s beneficiaries are from informal settlements where the population is ballooning but access to basic needs are deteriorating. According to the World Health Organization, poverty and poor health globally, are intimately linked. In an effort to break the cycle, TKT prioritizes the health of our beneficiaries and members of the communities we work in.

Physical health: TKT ensures that the beneficiaries in the program have access to quality health care by providing each beneficiary medical insurance cover ensuring that they have access to regular medical check-ups and specialized medical treatments or hospitalization if needed.

Mental health: Due to unfortunate reality that most of the beneficiaries have been through traumatic experiences ranging from neglect, physical and emotional violence, loss of family members, etc., TKT is committed to a holistic approach to health by ensuring the beneficiaries are not only physically healthy but are also emotionally and socially fit. Therefore, TKT sponsors therapy sessions, coaching sessions, workshops on mental well-being and the use of art as a form of expressing themselves.

Hygiene: TKT ensures the beneficiaries routinely practice preventive measures through trainings on hygiene and the provision of required hygiene materials. The hygiene program has been a success thanks to a range of international and local volunteers that have trained, mentored and coached them to take care of their basic hygiene needs.

Nutrition: Nutrition is a fundamental aspect of ensuring that every human being leads a healthy lifestyle. TKT therefore ensures that all the beneficiaries are provided with all the required meals and diets. The feeding program is run throughout the year through collaborating with the schools for those that are boarding students and providing them with the required nourishment over the holidays.
